A refreshed logo for Memphis' oldest cafe

We've designed logos and refreshed brands for Memphis restaurants, law firms, architects and clinics, and named a few businesses along the way. Most of that work happens alongside a new website, because a rebuild is when you're already changing your public face. It's the right time to take a hard look at the brand too.
The mark, colors and type everything else is built from. We built Skinner Technology Group's identity for its launch, and new ones for J Smith Law and Timothy D. Bartell after each split from an old firm.
Skinner Technology GroupUpdating a look people already know without losing what they recognize. The Arcade kept its sign and its history. ETFC Architects kept more than a century of identity and got a modern one.
ETFC ArchitectsElite Total Wellness needed a name that fit more than men's health. Altana on McLean was a new Midtown building with no name at all.
Altana on McLeanEvery branding project ends with a brand guide, so whoever designs your next sign or brochure gets it right. Altana on McLean and AKwire are two examples.
AKwireThe Arcade's menus, signs and gift shop merchandise. Elite's storefront, mailers and staff scrubs. Tailored Staffing's pens and USB drives.
In a bigger branding package we also write the words: taglines and the tone your copy should take. Silly Goose's refresh came with two new taglines.
Silly GooseMost of our branding work has happened as part of a website project, and we think that's the best time for it. A rebuild already means new copy, new photos and a new look online. If the logo or colors are out of date, the new site inherits the problem, or you end up redesigning it again to match a new brand a year later.
When we do both, the brand carries onto everything else you print or hang on a wall. ETFC Architects, the Arcade and South of Beale all got a new brand and a new website together.
Branding on its own works too. Elite Total Wellness and Altana on McLean were branding projects with no website attached: names, logos, signs and a brand guide.
Every project here has a full case study with the work itself.

Here's where most of our branding work has landed so far.
We want a brand you'll still be happy with years from now, so we take our time on the mark and test it on real applications before anything gets final.
You fill out a questionnaire, then we sit down and talk through your business, your customers and what people already know you for.
We show logo concepts on the things they'll actually live on, like a sign or a website, so the right direction is easier to see.
We go through rounds of revisions until the mark is right, then choose the typefaces and the supporting color palette.
The brand goes onto everything that needs it, and usually straight into a new website and marketing that show it off.
Send us your name and number. We'll call within one business day and look at what you have now together.

No. Elite Total Wellness and Altana on McLean were branding projects with no new site. Most clients do pair the two, since a rebuild is a natural time to update the brand.
Yes, that's what a brand refresh is. For the Arcade's 100th birthday we touched up a logo Memphis has known for decades and kept the sign, the room and the history in the new look.
Yes. We named Elite Total Wellness when the clinic outgrew men's health, and Altana on McLean, a new building in Midtown.
